In their new programme ‘What about Mary?’, Wishful Singing brings an ode to the most versatile woman ever: Maria. The five singers prove that Maria is an important source of inspiration for their music and wisdom.

In this new programme, Maria is presented as a multi-tasking woman, who would prefer to be all Maria’s at the same time. From mother to majesty, Mary Poppins to Bloody Mary, and Lady Madonna to Maria Callas. This causes the necessary friction on stage, because who is the real Maria?

Through the ages, her name has remained popular. She was a muse for many composers: Palestrina, Reger, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lennon & McCartney. Our Ladies of Wishful Singing bring many Maria’s from history together in this programme, in which Maria herself is the measure of every melody. Because let’s be honest: without Maria, there would be no Sound of Music.
